BLIND Mississippi Morris visits the Deep Blues Club, in York, for a third time on Tuesday, March 25.
Since moving to Memphis, Tennessee, in the mid-1980s, Morris has played his harmonica alongside guitarist Brad Webb, and the two will be accompanied at next week's show by their British soulmate Eddie Juke and his band.
Blind since the age of four, Morris grew up in Clarksdale, Mississippi, home to the musical talents of John Lee Hooker, Willie Brown, Ike Turner and Little Junior Parker. He lived next door to Howlin' Wolf's mother, was a cousin of Willie Dixon and was taught to play blues by two more cousins from the Mississippi Sheiks.
Tuesday's gig at the Post Office Club, Marygate, York, starts at 8pm. Admission is £6, £5 for CIU members and concessions.
