THE Fibbers weekend opens tonight (21st) with StrangeAngel Promotions presenting Skinflick and guest DJs at the music bar in Stonebow, York.
"Around the nucleus of producer and mixer J Williams, Skinflick emerged as flesh and blood in a stale music meat market," says Fibbers manager Tim Hornsby. "Having spent years honing their sound, they incorporate the power of metal with orchestral samples, radical mixing and ultra professional and bombastic production."
Saturday's tribute show by Blondie act Heart of Glass is followed by another on Sunday: The Pulse doing their Pink Floyd thing. "Named after the P.U.L.S.E. Tour of '94, this tribute doesn't have £1.5 million to spend but does have an amazing light show including animated circular screen projections," says Tim.
Five Knuckle, Losing Sunday Drive, Dumstruck and NYD form Tuesday's foursome; High Sound, IV Play, Jonny Moped and Meyssan compete in Round One, Heat Seven of the Fibbers/Evening Press Battle of the Bands on Wednesday at 8pm (admission £3); and Hardwired, 5 Finger Discount and Sigmunde play in aid of the York College Rag Week on Thursday.
