COLIN Tate played his 500th game for Aislaby United, but Sinnington proved party poopers as they won 4-0 in division one of RJF Homes Beckett League.

Tate, who made his debut in the 1976-77 season aged 16, is normally a right-back but has played in almost every position for the club, scoring 31 goals.

A winner of five trophies with United, he was player of the year in 1986, joining Pickering Town Reserves in 1992-93 but returning to Aislaby in 2000-01.

But his big day was spoiled as Gary Mitchell, Stuart Wilkinson, Paul Harland and Ron Atkinson.

Old Malton Reserves came from two down to beat Black Swan, Pickering 4-2 with goals by man of the match Glyn Brown, Jamie Wilkinson, Stuart Clarkson, all in the first half, and Wilkinson again.

Division one leaders Kirkdale United crashed to their first home defeat of the season, losing 3-0 to Kirkbymoorside Reserves, who had player-manager David Smith sent off early in the second half. Andrew Wilson (penalty), Nicky Hodgson and son Chris got the goals.

Brian Shepherd equalised deep into stoppage time as Union Rovers drew 1-1 with Amotherby and Swinton, Liam Rapp scoring for Amotherby.

Thornton-le-Dale won the division two match of the day at Heslerton Reserves 3-2.

Mike Lealman won and scored an early penalty for Thornton before two incredible goals put Heslerton, who also hit the woodwork twice, ahead.

Danny Cass scored a goal of the season contender, going from inside his own half, beating eight men and netting with a great shot, then Nicky Bell booted the ball from half-way for it to bounce over the 'keeper and in.

But Thornton equalised when Mark Shepherd scored direct from a corner and then won it when Jonathan Scoble finished off a fine move.

Second-placed Ampleforth twice came from behind to win 3-2 at Slingsby. Richard Chilton and Mark Foster with his first of the season scored for Slingsby, Ed Fawcett, Ross Brown and Dave Wallinger replying.

Ryedale Sports Club beat Bagby and Balk 5-2, Shaun Hornby volleying a great goal while other winning strikes came from John Reed (2), Nick Woodhead and Matty Gardner.

First division side Duncombe Park and second division team Pickering Royal Oak reached the final of the Ryedale Hospital Cup.

Park needed a stoppage time leveller from a scramble and an extra-time winner to see off second division Gillamoor in their semi-final.

Dan Broadbent scored for Gillamoor, who dominated the game throughout, but Steve Coxon and Shane Wilson put Park through.

Royal Oak beat Coxwold 3-1 after a goalless first half in which both sides missed chances.

Adam Hornby scored for Oak and, although Ben Kelly equalised, Damon Cox and Hornby won it.
