ONE of Pocklington Coachwork's super-luxury Formula One racing trailers will be regularly beamed out on television.
The York firm, which was the 2001 Evening Press Business of the Year, has linked up with Five - formerly Channel 5 - to supply one of its 40 ft long Premier trailers for a new series, So You Want To Be An F1 Driver? being launched on April 22. Filming has already begun for the six-week-long series, which will follow the 2003 Exchange & Mart UK F1 Driver's Challenge, featuring a member of the public being transformed into a Team Tyrell F1 racing driver. There were 2,700 applicants eager to win the ultimate prize - a seven-year contract to compete with the world's best drivers on the world's trickiest racetracks.
Fran Johnson, managing director of Pocklington Coachworks, said: "We are delighted to have been asked to supply a trailer for the event. The Premier Race Trailer has been developed to bring adaptability, convenience and speed to the motorsport world."
