Selby'S hopes of a strong finish in Yorkshire One were dashed at Huddersfield YMCA where they lost 29-8 in Yorkshire One.
Selby's points came from a Will Jordan try with Toby Pemberton kicking a penalty.
YMCA, who are fourth, ran in five tries through Marcus Kersey-Brown (2), Issi Fa, Neil Walker and Tim Horner.
Despite the defeat, the men from Sandhill Lane remain in fifth place and one of their remaining two league games is a trip to Clifton Park to take on York, who are pushing for promotion.
Bridlington are within touching distance of the championship after a 45-10 thumping of Old Crossleyans at Dukes Park, centre Richard Girking bagging two of the tries.
