Huntington Rovers continued their hot form in the premier division of the Leeper Hare York and District League with a 5-2 home win against Bishopthorpe.

After a dour first half display, the game sprung to life when Iain Dunn netted the first goal three minutes into the second half. Graham MacDonald made it 2-0 to Huntington in the 64th minute and Pete Laidlaw added another four minutes later. Paul Downes came on as substitute and it did not take him long to make it 4-0.

The visitors scored two quick goals to give them hope but a second goal from Dunn soon put paid to any chance Bishopthorpe had of saving a point.

The Rufforth v Kartiers game was a tight affair with Jimmy Collins hitting a post for Rufforth early on.

Andy Woodall shot Kartiers in front although Chris Maude in the Rufforth goal did manage to get his hands to the ball.

The game exploded in the first minute of the second half when the referee sent a player off from each side. Paul Moss hit the Rufforth equaliser although Kartiers squandered a number of chances to take maximum points.

Old Malton's recent poor run continued with a 3-2 defeat at Osbaldwick. Phil Hill hit both their goals but the home side took the points thanks to strikes by Mark Triffitt and Steve Jackson (2).

Nestl Rowntree gained three valuable points with a 4-0 home win over Crayke with James Vine and Paul Noon hitting a goal each.

Copmanthorpe's division one promotion hopes were jolted by a 4-2 defeat at T&L Selby but they probably scored one of the fastest goals of the season when former York City player Kieron Darlow netted after only eight seconds.

They went two up in the 15th minute when Mark Gregory struck. The home side then regained their composure and took control, scoring four before the break through Adam Durnin, Darren Fawcett, Paul Tanton and Steve Rowbottom.

Civil Service did their hopes of avoiding relegation no harm with a surprise 3-1 win at South Bank with goals from Andy Peace, Joe Michelli and Jimmy Iles. Glen Pallister netted for Bank.

Relegation-threatened Norwich Union slipped to a 3-1 defeat at New Earswick whose scorers were Adam Craskie (2) and Charlie Holmes whose effort came direct from a corner.

Fulford almost managed another draw, this time against St John's College, but an Andy Sherlock goal inside the last five minutes spoiled their day.

Thorpe United's promotion challenge came unstuck when Haxby Town won, courtesy of an own goal. Dave Thompson hit Haxby's first but an own goal put Thorpe back on level terms before they too conceded an own goal which lost them the game.

Division Two leaders Stamford Bridge were 2-0 up at Huby, thanks to Sean Caffrey and Jamie Rank, but the home side struck twice, through Tim Cockill and John Durrant in the last 20 minutes to force a 2-2 draw.

Barmby Moor disposed of Ouseburn & Hammerton 2-0 with both goals from Richard Allison. Heslington threw away the points at Poppleton after leading twice with goals from Adam Carlyle and Andy Gray. James Barratt hit a second half hat-trick for the home team and Matt Graham added a goal as Poppleton won 4-2.

York RI celebrated a rare win to move off the bottom of division three as a Stewart Hartley goal gave them a 1-0 victory over fellow strugglers Rawcliffe Rangers.

Marton cum Grafton enjoyed their biggest win for some time as they triumphed 6-3 at Wheldrake for whom Nick Henshaw and Adrian Ogden (2) were the marksmen.

Title-chasing Wilberfoss are now level on points with Moor Lane after a 3-1 win at Strensall, who led through Nigel Lyle but Wilberfoss turned it round with goals by Shaun Hodgson, John Parkin and Richard Lofthouse.
