IT is appalling that York Barbican Centre users have not yet been adequately informed about its future.
No details were at the centre or through my door, or in York Citizen.
This less than a week before an exhibition of options and two weeks before the consultation deadline!
Residents must speak up now for their fitness, child-friendly and eating facilities on one central site.
I value the creche, soft play and children's holiday activities. I go four times a week to the gym and fitness classes. They are crucial for my health and child's well being.
A gym with creche and soft play needs to be saved.
Fight now for a family-friendly health complex that is council-controlled, central, accessible and affordable.
Ask for plans on (01904) 553369. Go to the Barbican on these dates: Tuesday, March 18, 10am-4pm; Thursday March 20, 10am-4pm; Tuesday March 25 5pm-9pm; or to Edmund Wilson pool on Wednesday March 26, 10am-6pm.
Contact Coun Alan Jones at cllr.ajones@york.gov.uk, or at the Guildhall, York YO1 9XN, or write to Vicky Japes, 18 Back Swinegate YO1 8ZD who compiles public responses.
Save our Barbican fitness and play areas. Demand an extension for proper local consultation.
