VOCAL hopefuls descended on York for the chance to make it big in the pop business.
Asda York was hosting a singing competition with the chance of a day at Universal Records recording studio.
Would-be singers queued up for their opportunity all day on Saturday.
The lucky winners in the local competition, sponsored appropriately enough by pop giants Coca-Cola, will go through to finals where the winner of the star prize will be chosen.
He or she will get the chance to cut a CD in a day recording at Universal.
