YORK City Knights chief executive Steve Ferres has reiterated his plea for patience from the fans.
Everyone connected with the Knights was given a massive boost with last week's historic win at Sheffield, but Ferres has refused to go overboard and instead has asked for the supporters to stick by the club as it looks to continue progressing.
"It was our first win and we will probably remember it for ever but it's just another brick in the foundation and we've got to continue building," he said.
"Patience and belief is the key. The fans are going to take some knocks along the way but we believe in what we're doing, while the Rugby Football League have stated that we've got things in place that some Super League clubs haven't got and they are confident what we're doing is right.
"We're putting building blocks in place and we ask for the supporters' patience.
"As we know, we came into the league late and it's difficult but if they're patient and believe in what we're trying to do then I'm positive we will reap the rewards."
As reported by the Press, Ferres has more signings lined up but he stressed the club would not rush into anything. "Things will be done in the proper manner," he said. "We've got to have the infrastructure to support that rather than doing things on a whim."
