YORK dance teacher Evelyn Witcombe presents her students in Now This Is Dance at Joseph Rowntree Theatre, York, from Wednesday to Saturday.
The show's principal dancers are Charlotte Hardy and Christianne Eaves, who will be featuring in Invitation To The Dance, the Top Gear dancers' three contributions, She Bangs, Macho Mambo Bunny Girls and Lord Of The Dance, and the duet piece Skip A Tap.
In The Magic Curtain, Joseph Poulton dances the role of the Wizard alongside students from the summer workshop. Joseph gained a place at the Royal Ballet Summer School last August and subsequently at the junior associates branch of the Royal Ballet School.
Rosie Wright, who like Joseph took part in the Royal Ballet Summer School, will be dancing in an Acrobatic Trio routine with Hannah Poulton and Joanna Wright, as well as the Rainbow dancers' items, Fever, Thank You For The Music and English Country Garden.
Tap dancer Adam Bush leads the Starlets and Lynettes in Thank Heaven For Little Girls and also dances in the opening Consider Yourself At Home and, in the second half, Match Of The Day with the Bluebells. Evelyn Witcombe herself is appearing in the show, dancing the penultimate piece, Born Free.
Performances start at 7.15pm, and tickets cost £6, concessions £5, from Ticket World, in Patrick Pool, tel 01904 644194. Profits will go to York Against Cancer and the St Andrew's Church Hall Fund.
