KINDHEARTED York nurses have made a pop dream come true for young arthritis sufferer Alex Cummings.
The 11-year-old, from Strensall, was given two free tickets to see her idols, Liberty X at their sold out gig at the Barbican Centre last night.
Alex was given a guided backstage tour by support artist Jamie Pearce. The nurses from York Hospital's children's ward decided to treat Alex because of her bravery while receiving treatment there.
She suffers from systemic arthritis and has been in and out of the ward since last November.
Her mum, Sally, said she was recovering well and currently on a course of steroids.
"It's such a lovely thing for them to have done," Sally said.
"Alex was absolutely flabbergasted - she had tears in her eyes.
"She has recently bought the Liberty X album and has been singing all the songs."
