HOORAY for the residents of the Victoria Bar area, they have a bollard which will seal off the area to all motorists except the residents. Congratulations, you now have a private drive to your homes.
I suggest to City of York Council that now the residents have the only rights to be the users of these roads, they now are given sole rights to pay for all the repairs and no more repairs are carried out by the council.
If we, as drivers and ratepayers, are refused the use of public roads, I suggest we refuse to pay for repairs, or double the rates on these privileged house-owners within Victoria Bar and the walls.
It seems fair - they wanted privacy, let's see them pay for it!

Bretgate,
Walmgate, York.
