SESSIONS 'A' and Bootham CC 'A' will finish first and second in division one of the Focus Fireplace York and District table Tennis League.
Sessions went further ahead after a 9-1 win over Coneysthorpe 'A', Chris Nicholls and Mick Willcockson each winning three games.
Bootham CC 'A' slipped up when they were held 5-5 by Coneysthorpe 'A' whose Paul Creswell won three matches.
John Farmery's three wins helped Strensall 'A' to a 6-4 victory over Groves Associates 'A'.
In division two, Groves Associates 'B' are poised to go straight back into division one after beating Nestl Rowntree 'A' 8-2 with Pete Harpham and Chris Markey each winning three.
Bootham CC 'B', in third place, were held 5-5 by Strensall 'B'. Richard Ingleby was undefeated for Bootham who turned up with only two players.
Poppleton 'C' had an 8-2 win over the bottom team Northern Electric, who are now relegated. Jack Kyprian won all three for Poppleton.
Division three leaders Bootham CC 'C' swept away Strensall 'C' 9-1 with Bob Plant and Steve Milner both undefeated. Coneysthorpe are in second place and Poppleton 'D' beat Shepherds 'B' 6-4 to remain in third spot. John Lloyd was unbeaten for Poppleton.
York RI 'E', whose Ken Robson was undefeated, moved off the bottom after an 8-2 win over Strensall 'D'. Rob Pocock won all three for York RI 'F' in their 6-4 win over Shepherds 'A'.
Groves Associates 'D' hung on to the lead in division four after drawing 5-5 with improving York RI 'H'. Gareth Stott won all three for RI and Steve Potter and John Orchard two each for Groves.
Nestl Rowntree 'C' closed the gap after an 8-2 win over Shepherds 'D' where Richard Falkingham and Alan Richards were unbeaten.
Third-placed York RI 'G' beat Sessions 'C' 9-1. Betty Norman and Dennis Chapman were unbeaten for RI.
Three wins from Gareth Stott helped York RI 'J' draw 5-5 with York RI 'I'. Len Watson and Robert Farmery won all six sets between them to give Sessions 'C' a 6-4 win over York RI 'K'. Holly Lewis played well for the 'K' team to win twice.
