Moloko burst on to the scene with their huge dance hit Sing It Back in the late 1990s.
Four years on they are back with Statues, a mix of dance floor favourites and haunting tunes which sound great with lead singer Roisin Murphy's outstanding voice.
Despite a couple of mediocre songs, overall it is a good album which shows the band can do more than churn out dance hits. The title track, a strangely haunting song, suits Roisin's voice and shows the band's versatility. Familiar Feeling is bound to be a dancefloor hit and there are other club-friendly tunes, such as Forever More, 100 Per Cent and I Don't Want You. Blow By Blow and The Only Ones are less impressive but don't spoil the whole album.
