Fall drama atA construction worker who fell from a building at a North Yorkshire power station was taken to hospital with pelvic and spinal injuries.
The man, believed to be aged about 50, fell 20 feet in an empty silo at Eggborough Power Station, near Selby.
Firefighters helped rescue the man, who was then taken by ambulance to Pontefract General Infirmary, at about 3pm yesterday.
A spokesman for British Energy, which runs the power station, said the injured man was conscious after the fall.
He said: "We will be looking into the causes of the accident. We do take safety very seriously at the power station and we will be carrying out a full investigation to make sure it does not happen again."
In July last year a 54-year-old sub-contractor from Middlesbrough fell from inside a 600ft-high chimney stack at the site and died.
He was working on a new de-sulphurising project at the station which is due to be completed in October.
