FARMERS and others running rural businesses in North Yorkshire are being urged to attend workshops aimed at helping them win Government cash.
The Country Land and Business Association (CLA) is urging its members in the county to take advantage of Rural Enterprise Scheme (RES) workshops.
In the past year, 85 per cent of grant applicants who attended the workshops won funding, compared with an overall "pass rate" of 65 per cent.
"It's a competitive situation and this is now strong evidence that these workshops really do work," said the CLA's regional director, Dorothy Fairburn.
"If you are thinking of developing new business opportunities, or are involved in schemes of social or environmental benefit, the workshops are invaluable. Feedback from our members is very good."
The Rural Development Service says that following last year's workshops, 29 out of 34 RES applications from those who attended were subsequently approved.
Bookings are now being accepted. For further information phone the Rural Development Service in North Yorkshire, on 01609 767400.
