STAFF and students at one North Yorkshire school are closer to their dream of becoming a specialist science base.
With less than a week to go before the bidding deadline, Malton School made an heroic effort to gather £50,000 towards their plan.
A successful application would mean the school received £100,000 in funding for new science facilities, plus £70,000 per year for at least four years to go towards increasing science resources.
The bid focuses on teaching science and mathematics not just within Malton School but also eight surrounding primary schools.
