HARROGATE Town took a giant step towards defending their West Riding County FA Cup title after they finally ended their Bradford Park Avenue hoodoo.
Not since the 1998/9 season had Town tasted success over the former League club, but they finally ended their barren run with a 2-0 success in the cup semi-finals last night.
Marc Smith made it two goals in two since completing his permanent transfer - for a 'sizeable four-figure fee' - from Eastwood Town, while Robbie Whellans returned to the starting line-up after illness to net Town's second.
John Reed's men will now meet UniBond League first division outfit Farsley Celtic, 1-0 victors over Goole in their semi, in the final at the County Ground, Woodlesford, on April 16.
