CITY of York Hockey Club's Under-14 girls' team have completed the Yorkshire Youth League season unbeaten.
They won all their games in the final round of matches to finish the campaign with 16 wins and two draws from their 18 matches to finish eight points clear.
They amassed 54 goals and, remarkably, let just one in.
They walloped Driffield 'B' 7-0 with goals from Becki Raper (4), Amerlia Smalley (2) and Katherine Francis as Smalley, Hannah longster and Alison Stafford controlled the midfield.
Smalley (2) and Francis were on target as Ben Rhydding were beaten 3-0.
Kate Bigg made some excellent tackles in defence, while Emma Rowley excelled in goal.
Goals by Smalley, Francis and Anna Ramli gained a 3-0 win over Adel.
York will be on the trail of silverware in three weeks' time when they play in the Yorkshire Youth League finals.
City of York U12 boys 'B' team enjoyed mixed success on Sunday, beating Sheffield University Bankers 2-1 (James Shearston and Will Ellis) and forcing 0-0 draws with Ben Rhydding 'A' and Chapletown. They lost to Normanby Park and Brigg.
The York 'A' team lost to Boston Spa, Slazengers, Kirklees and Old Malton to finish bottom of their group.
They did draw 1-1 with Thirsk, Alfie Chase getting the goal.
