TWINKLE-TOED York dancers have stepped away from a northern competition with an armful of silverware.
Members of the Melodies dance school, which meets in Clifton, have been recognised for their modern dancing talents
More than 25 members aged between ten and 16 took part in the United Kingdom Alliance Dance Association competition in Blackpool.
They beat 12 other dance schools from the north of England to achieve the top overall score in the Latino dancing section.
Teacher Jean Harvey, 48, who also teaches ballroom dancing, said the win was the "icing on the cake" of a great day.
The Melodies dance school has more than 40 members and meets every Saturday at the club house of Melodies, the Wigginton Road golf driving range.
