ELVIS has been sighted in York - all over the city, in fact, after die-hard fan Kath Hart had his image painted on her car.
The 41-year-old member of the York Gracelanders fan club has transformed her convertible car with an image of the king of rock and roll and a personalised number plate.
Kath, of Rawcliffe, splashed out on the registration L4 ELV (Love for Elvis) for her Renault Megane, and employed a York printing firm to put the final touches to her moving tribute.
She said: "I get lots of nice reaction from other drivers all the time. People point and smile and say that it is a great-looking car. When I went to get the number plates put on, the mechanics came out and said it was really cool."
She said the Elvis fan group was holding three events this week, beginning with its monthly meeting at the Black Swan, Peasholme Green, tomorrow from 8pm.
On Thursday, an Elvis Jam Night will be held at the Fulford Arms, Fulford Road, with all proceeds going to York children's charity SNAPPY.
York Health Service Club, in White Cross Road, will host an Elvis disco on Friday at 7.30pm. Tickets for the disco cost £5 and can be bought on the door.
