THE Ministry of Defence has unveiled a new electronic bulletin board to help members of the public wishing to send goodwill messages to the Armed Forces in the Gulf.
The "E-bluey Bulletin Board" has been set up by the British Forces Post Office (BFPO) to allow anyone with access to a computer with an internet connection to send messages.
The messages are then printed out and distributed via the local BFPO office to those serving in the region.
Major General Malcolm Wood, director general of the Defence Logistics Organisation, said: "We know a lot of people want to support our troops and we believe that this is a good way to do so.
"A number of people have asked if they can send either food or clothes, but while we appreciate the thought, messages from home arrive more quickly and are always appreciated."
The E-bluey Bulletin Board can be accessed at the BFPO website on www.bfpo.org.uk via the e-bluey link. Messages are free and can be sent to the Royal Navy (including the Royal Marines), the RAF and the Army.
