FORMER York City striker Sidney Storey could soon be lifting a trophy for his tireless charity fundraising.
The 84-year-old is a front runner to receive an award for outstanding achievement at the Not Old, Just Older awards.
Sidney, of Long Furrow, Haxby, retired four years ago after a 25-year career as a miner followed by work as a bus and coach driver.
Despite ill health, the talented octogenarian continues to run four classes of sequence dancing a week and has raised almost £8,000 for good causes in York.
He has reached the finals of the HelpThe Aged awards, which will be held in London later this month.
Sidney played for City in the 1950s.
