Glamorous international pop stars do not often visit our part of the world, yet a North Yorkshire village is the unlikely home for two big names - Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera.

But residents at Hemingbrough, near Selby, need not start looking out for paparazzi and crazed fans because the "two" blonde stars are in fact tribute artist Jeni Jade.

The 23-year-old singer is experiencing an explosion in demand for her stage show, and has extended her act to include both of the world-famous American music idols.

She's even had an authentic stage costume, based on Aguilera's trademark leather chaps and basque, made for her by a York seamstress.

Jeni has performed all over Europe, appeared on TV programmes including Coronation Street and Heartbeat, and reached the final 20 contestants in Popstars, The Rivals.

"I remember being a child and looking up at acts during trips to holiday camps. It was always a dream to do it myself," she said.

Her partner, Tim Barron, 35, manages 50 other acts as part of his "Popelganger" business.

Jeni Jaye will appear at the Abbey Leisure Centre, in Selby, on Saturday, April 12. Tickets cost £5.
