THE search is on to find people who can help shape the future of learning disabilities services in the York, Selby and Easingwold areas.
The Valuing People Partnership Board is looking for new members from these areas who either have learning disabilities themselves, or who have experience of caring for those who do. The board, which meets six times a year, is responsible for making sure that the planning and delivery of services for people with learning disabilities is done in a way that benefits both the individuals and their families.
Anne Tidd, adult services group manager, City of York Council, said: "We would welcome people who have experience of learning disabilities to take this opportunity to get involved and make a real difference at a local level."
Anyone who is interested should phone Rod Hardwick or Anne Bygrave at City of York Council on 01904 554068 or 554148.
