A GROUP of singers from a York school have been chosen to join the Yorkshire Youth Choir.
The five girls from Oaklands School were selected to take part in auditions in Sheffield last month.
Molly Dodson, music and drama teacher at the school, said she was not sure whether the girls would make it as the standard was very high.
She said: "We are over the moon that they got in. It is great for the school and for them."
The girls will now take part in concerts as well as residential trips with singers from all over Yorkshire.
