THE Black Cats are heading to York in support of the Minstermen.
With Premiership strugglers Sunderland without a game tomorrow, the Evening Press understands a mini-army of Black Cats supporters are intending to support City as they tackle Cambridge United.
At least one coach, organised by Sunderland fanzine A Love Supreme, is expected to make the trip from the Stadium of Light to Bootham Crescent.
Sunderland fans rallied to the City cause last month when a hastily arranged bucket collection raised more than £2,000 for Trust funds.
The two clubs have forged close links in recent years following a special agreement that has seen Sunderland players like Michael Proctor, Mark Maley, Michael Reddy and Michael Ingham join the Minstermen on loan.
Following their players' progress at Bootham Crescent has enabled Sunderland fans to also take a special interest in City and the club's off-field problems.
