THREE controversial pylons have now been built on a North Yorkshire widow's land.
Rosalind Craven took National Grid to the High Court last year in an attempt to prevent it constructing the pylons on Home Farm at Huby, near Easingwold.
She failed in her legal challenge before Christmas, and faces the prospect of having to pay tens of thousands of pounds in damages.
Construction work started early in the New Year, and the last of the three pylons was completed yesterday.
Power lines will shortly be strung between the structures, to form part of the new power line across the Vale of York from Teesside to Shipton-by-Beningbrough, near York.
But Mrs Craven said that, even though the pylons were now in place on her land, she still hoped to appeal against last December's decision at the High Court in Leeds.
She is still waiting to hear if the Appeal Court will grant her leave to appeal.
