THERE'S no stopping Sessions 'A' in division one of the Focus Fireplaces York and District Table Tennis League.

They swept Strensall 'A' away in a 9-1 win with both Chris Nicholls and Mick Wilcockson unbeaten.

Bootham CC 'A' recorded the same scoreline aganst York RI 'A' where Steve Cooper and Paul Eastwood were unbeatable.

York RI 'B' introduced their 12th player in the side this season when they drew 5-5 with Poppleton 'B'. Joe Teale did not win a game but he played well and took Rob Pulleyn to three games. Paul Noutch won all three games for RI.

York RI 'C' took a second string team to Coneysthorpe 'A' and won 7-3 with Mark Blackburn being unbeaten.

Vic Smith won all three for York RI 'A' against Nestl Rowntree 'A' and team-mate Jill Schofield won twice.

Chris Markey and Chris Abbott each won three games for Groves Associates 'B' as they won 9-1 against in division two to remain at the top.

Two wins for Sessions 'B' kept them in title contention. They beat Bootham CC 'B' 6-4 with three wins for Keith Elsegood, who, along with Terry Nicolson, was also unbeaten as they defeated Strensall 'B' 9-1.

York RI 'D' went down 6-4 to Groves Associates 'C', whose Martin Symons won all three. Strensall 'B' beat BT 'A' 8-2 with Ed Wardman unbeaten. Dave Simpson won all his games for Nestl Rowntree 'B' as they beat Poppleton 'C' 6-4.

Any hope that Coneysthorpe 'B' had of catching leaders Bootham CC 'C' disappeared when they were 5-5 by Shepherds 'B'. Eddie Prest was unbeaten for Coneysthorpe.

Gary Nead's three wins helped Shepherds 'A' to a 5-5 draw with Strensall 'D'. Rob Pocock won all three for York RI 'F' in a 7-3 win over Poppleton 'D'.

York RI 'E' beat fellow strugglers Norwich Union 'A' 6-4 with Peter Griffiths remaining unbeaten.

Groves Associates 'D' are the new leaders of division four after beating York RI 'I' 7-3, Steve Potter contributing three wins.

Third-placed York RI 'G' beat Norwich Union 'B' 9-1. Shepherds 'C' slipped down the table but won a close match at Sessions 'C' 6-4. Alan Milner won all three for Shepherds, while Haley Smith and Len Watson won two each for Sessions.

Shepherds 'D' had a 9-1 win over Shepherds 'C', Nigel Baker and Richard Day each won three for Shepherds. Len Watson was unbeaten for Sessions 'C' in a 7-3 win over Shepherds 'D'.
