HAVE you ever wondered why the traffic figures produced by City of York Council don't seem to add up? Well, here's why.
On Monday, Bishopthorpe Road was closed one way - towards the city centre - for gas main works. Most people therefore are now avoiding this area.
On Tuesday morning, where has the city of York Council set up a traffic survey? On the corner of Bishopthorpe Road and Scarcroft Road!
This junction is normally busy in the morning rush hour. With the road partially closed, traffic is reduced to less than 50 per cent of normal. What will the figures show, I wonder?
