GREEN-FINGERED youngsters at a York primary school did their bit for the environment by planting new trees on their playing fields.
The youngsters from Acomb Primary School planted three oak trees as part of the Plant A Tree for 2003 initiative run by City of York Council. The aim of the scheme is to boost the city's below-average tree population. The planting was organised through The Friends of Acomb Primary School and the school's gardening club.
