A FEW months back, I contacted City of York Council to ask if something could be done about the significant increase in graffiti on local streets.
After being passed around four different departments, I was given a telephone number and told that I could hire a sandblaster to remove the graffiti myself. This would cost me more than £200.
I am pleased to read then, that the council might finally be taking some responsibility for the growing problem of vandalism in the city.
How about spending some of that inflated council tax and hiring someone qualified to wield a sandblaster, instead of asking private (and untrained!) citizens to do it?
