FORMER York City director John Quickfall today resigned from the board of directors of Bootham Crescent Holdings (BCH), the landlords of the football club who put the ground up for sale 15 months ago.

Mr Quickfall, who cited "personal reasons" for his exit as a BCH director, also said that any profit from his BCH shareholding would be directed towards securing a new home for the football club.

He said in a statement to the Evening Press: "I have today submitted my resignation from the board of directors of Bootham Crescent Holdings Plc ('BCH') for personal reasons.

"I have worked for over 16 years to ensure the continued existence of York City Football Club. For the last 14 months this work has continued despite the wrong and offensive assumptions that have been made regarding my involvement with BCH.

"I should like to make it clear that I will not make any personal profit out of my shares in BCH.

"It is my intention that any such profit which may become due to me will be put towards securing a new home for York City Football Club."
