A NIGHTMARE first half led to Heworth ARLC under-14s losing 45-28 at Castleford Panthers.
Half-time saw the young Villagers, with only Gareth Watson showing any spirit for the game, trailing 36-10 after the home side had dominated proceedings.
Heworth tightened up after the break and restored some pride but they had left themselves with too much to do. Skipper Watson notched a hat-trick and other tries came from Steve Huller (2) and Imi Lewis, while Benn Potter and Watson each added one conversion.
