A YORK hospice is opening another shop in the city in its continued effort to raise £1.75 million a year.
The new shop in Scarcroft Road will help raise vital funds for the work of St Leonard's Hospice, which cares for patients at its Tadcaster Road site.
Hospice staff are looking for volunteers to help run the shop, which will open after Easter.
It will sell a wide range of donated goods but will have a special focus on fine linens.
St Leonard's Hospice already runs shops in Tang Hall, Acomb and Haxby in York and Pocklington.
Helen Moreton, community fundraiser for St Leonard's Hospice, said: "Opening a new shop is an exciting venture for us, and we know we can count on local custom and support.
"We hope as many people as possible will volunteer to help us run our Scarcroft Road shop - its success will very much depend on them.
"Our shops make a substantial contribution to the total of £1.75 million we
need each year to run the Hospice."
Anyone who would like to volunteer to help in the Scarcroft Road Hospice shop should telephone Helen Moreton at St Leonard's Hospice Fundraising Centre on 01904 781576.
