Victory would have given Doncaster, who have won all but one of their games this season, the championship but York rained on their parade.
Doncaster led 3-0 but were stunned by a York fightback which brought goals for Sam Blackburn (2) and Ed Shouksmith with Mark Dransfield almost filching victory with a reverse stick sweep.

Weakened by unavailability, a scratch City of York VI lost 3-1 at Rotherham V, Doug Thompson, who had a fine game, scoring for York. Tony Moffat kept the score down with some excellent saves.
Only goalkeeper Nathan Sorby came out of City of York VII's 6-0 defeat against Leeds University V in division eight with any credit.

Tadcaster Men I eased their relegation worries in Yorkshire League division five with a 3-1 win at fellow strugglers Sheffield Hallam V.

Tadcaster II earned their first win of the year when goals by Rob Hill (2) and T C Conner gave them a 3-2 victory over Thirsk II in division eight, although it needed a great treble save by 'keeper Davy Sutton near the end to deny Thirsk a draw.
Marc Betts scored a hat-trick as York St John College men romped to a 9-0 win at Huddersfield VIII in the Yorkshire League division. Other goals were scored by Martyn French, Tim Murgatroyd, Tom Carter (2) and Ben Foster (2).
