SPECIAL walks and reflections celebrating the spirit of the North York Moors have been organised in a joint project to mark ten years of a Thirsk centre for health and pastoral care.
The National Park Authority has teamed up with Holyrood House to bring music, drama and spiritual reflection to different moorland crosses across the National Park on the Sundays leading up to Easter.
The Reverend Elizabeth Baxter, from Holyrood House, said: "Each cross visited will be a focus for reflection and celebration on an aspect of our lives." Holyrood is the Old English term for the cross.
The first event will be at Young Ralph Cross, Westerdale Moor on Sunday, with Andy Wilson, chief executive of the National Park, and the Guisborough Salvation Army Band.
Each of the events will start at the crosses at 1pm, although some will involve a walk to get there, which starts earlier. Some offer an extended walk and a picnic. For more details visit www.moors.uk.net or pick up a leaflet at local shops, libraries or Tourist Information Centres.
