After a run of poor form in division two of the Yorkshire League, City of York women's II had a welcome 3-1 home win against Leeds Owls II.
With juniors Lucy Butcher and Rosie Evans playing well, York scored all their goals in the first-half through Helen Shilleto (2) and Sue Draper. Owls' consolation came in the last minute.
In division six, City of York III won 3-0 at Halifax IV. Becky Copperthwaite scored twice before the break, Anwen Hughes adding the third in the second half.
Also in division six, City of York IV had an emphatic 9-1 win at home to Leeds III. Steph Pearson and Jess Barnes both scored hat-tricks, the other goals shared by Julia Lancaster, Chantal Barnes and Hannah Pedley.
City of York Ladies I resume their North League fixtures at Colne Valley next weekend.
York St John College Ladies I won 6-1 at Sheffield IV in division four after falling behind to an early goal.
On target for the York students were Kim Naylor (2), Amy Spencer (2), Lilly Prime and Liz Wilcock.
