THE article "New bin trial is rubbish" (January 20) and the proposal to collect domestic waste once a fortnight after a trail period in four Selby villages is another example of incompetence by the proposers.
This follows the usual annual "less- for-more" attitude to the electorate.
How easy it must be for those who budget to bang an extra ten per cent on council tax and at the same time reduce a public service.
I should like the Selby District Council to be aware that I oppose any such idea.
I would say do your sums again and look where savings can realistically take place and let the district of Selby enjoy a raise-free fiscal year for once.
