PROUD Scot Bill Embleton will be among the many Scotsmen and women raising a glass on Burns Night tonight.
Bill, landlord of the Punch Bowl pub, in Stonegate, York, plans to celebrate the big night by donning his kilt and sporran and putting some haggis out for his customers to sample.
His wife, Susan, said: "We both love Burns Night, it is a great night. We usually celebrate it by going out to a party. It's got a real special atmosphere about it."
Susan said she had acquired the taste for haggis during her time with Bill.
She laughed: "I'd never tasted one until I met him. But we've been together 25 years and married 24 so I've eaten quite a few haggis in that time."
