NEW York City goalkeeper Michael Ingham was preparing for a York City hell's kitchen baptism against Third Division rivals Hull City today.
Belfast-born Ingham linked up with the Minstermen on a month's loan yesterday from Premiership outfit Sunderland.
He and the Black Cats answered York manager Terry Dolan's S-O-S for a net-minder after the shock loss of the club's number one for the past two seasons, Alan Fettis, to derby foes Hull City.
Enthused Dolan: "I am delighted to have got someone of Michael Ingham's quality.
"He was somebody who I looked at earlier in the season, but he was injured so we were not able to take him then.
"He is a good lad and I'm sure he will prove an asset while he is here."
Meanwhile, a major fund-raising dinner is to be aranged by former referee Graham Bradbury on behalf of the York City Supporters' Trust.
The dinner will be at the Voltigeur Suite at York Racecourse on Wednesday, March 5 and will be presented by ITV commentator and lifelong City fan Jon Champion.
