THREE organisations based in North Yorkshire have scooped a cash windfall from the national lottery Awards For All pot.
Hambleton and Richmondshire Carers Centre has taken the lion's share of the £7,500 handout.
The centre is run by a new group which provides information and support to carers of all ages. The £5,000 it has been awarded will be used to hold four forums and information sessions a year, aimed at reducing the stress levels of carers.
Age Concern North Yorkshire has been granted £1,760 towards its work providing a variety of services for older people, including information and advice, befriending services, public education and social advocacy.
Finally, Alne Parish Council was granted £775 to protect its ancient plague stone at Alne Cross with kerbing. The stone is where people from the country sold their wares to village customers.
