York City Knights' rapidly increasing reputation has been enhanced further by the loan signing of the talented Great Britain Academy prop Tommy Gallagher.
The 18-year-old, one of the stars of the GB Academy squad that beat the Australian, has teamed up with the Huntington Stadium set-up initially on a month's loan from Leeds Rhinos.
Chief executive Steve Ferres told the Evening Press: "We are absolutely delighted to have brought in Tommy. He is a young lad looking to go far and wants to gain some experience in the game.
"He is a nice lad and just what we are looking for."
Gallagher is the second teenage prodigy to sign for the Knights, with 19-year-old loose forward Damien Kennedy already at the club from the Rhinos.
Gallagher could come straight into the squad for the Knights' TXU Energi Challenge Cup game against Skirlaugh.
Tickets for the match, which kicks-off at 2pm, are priced at £8 for adults, £4 for OAPs and £2 for children under 16.
Meanwhile, a video of the historic first-ever York City Knights game, against Hull KR, is now on sale at the club office for £12.99.
