THE legend of the "Kelfield Prophetess" will be brought to life at her grave at Holy Trinity Church, in Goodramgate, York, tomorrow.
The event, part of the Residents First Weekend in the city, tells the tale of how Hannah White, ne Beedham, became famous for predicting the time and place of her own death, in Kelfield, near Selby, at 9pm on August 1, 1833.
Thousands of people gathered there to see if the macabre forecast would come true. It did not - she lived another six years.
Kelfield-based actor Chris Cade will tell the story of My Hannah, at 11am, noon, 2pm and 3pm tomorrow.
