youngsters aged between two and five gathered at a York playgroup as part of the Chatterbox Challenge - an initiative launched to help young people that struggle to communicate.
Children recited their favourite songs, stories and nursery rhymes at the Panda Playgroup, which meets at the Women's Institute Hall, Copmanthorpe. The meeting was organised to raise money for UK charity I CAN, which supports children who have difficulty communicating with others.
Organiser Helen Barritt said: "The development and use of communication and language is at the heart of young children's learning.
"We have had great fun learning songs, stories and rhymes for Chatterbox Challenge, Speech and language skills come naturally to most children and are vital for their development.
"I'm delighted that the money we have raised will help give children who struggle to communicate 'a voice'."
