YOUNG stars with a dream of treading the boards are performing their latest pantomime to brighten up January.
More than 40 schoolchildren and members of the St Aelred's Players have spent months preparing for their performance of Babes In The Wood, which is being shown at St Aelred's School, in Fifth Avenue, York, tonight and tomorrow.
Ann Rochester, who is taking part in the production, said: "We have been rehearsing since last September. It has been a lot of work.
"Everyone has looked forward to performing, although it has been quite hectic at times. The show is what it is all about."
Today's show starts at 7.30pm, while panto lovers have a choice of either 2pm or 7pm tomorrow.
Tickets, priced £4 for adults and £2 for children, can be booked by contacting the school on 01904 422800.
Claire Horsley is pictured, centre left, as Maid Marian, with Hanna Burrows (Robin Hood). They are flanked by Jane Houghton, left, and Jonjo Smith, right, with fellow members of the cast.
