Well done to all those who turned out for the York Against War meeting at York's Le Meridien hotel on Monday night.
Anyone who thinks the war is nothing to do with them should remember it is their taxes that pay the wages of the armed forces and for the bombs that could be dropped.
We were treated to an excellent and rousing speech - never dull for one second and completely encapsulating all the arguments against the war.
Everybody left the meeting feeling inspired. What a shame that the speaker was George Galloway, Labour MP for Glasgow, and not our own Labour MP Hugh Bayley.
Come the next General Election, ask not for whom the bell tolls - it tolls for Hugh.
