The fourth round of the Acomb Tackle-backed York Winter League produced some good sport for the 96 entrants despite a flooded river.
The Ouse below York was three feet above normal level and rose steadily throughout the match, but plenty of skimmers found the conditions to their liking.
John Miller (Cobblers) led from peg two in the 'pumper' at Fulford, where he feeder-fished red maggot close-in for three bream and 9lb 4oz.
Trevor Price (Tang Hall Match Group) was in the rocky culvert in the Donkeywood and fished a chopped worm feeder for five skimmers plus roach scaling 7lb 1oz.
Derek Barker (Mitre) helped his team to victory with top weight from the bridge field at Bishopthorpe with a bream plus three roach for 6lb 12oz.
Others: Alan Fluger (Anglers Corner) 6-4-0; Tim Harrison ((Barlby Village Stores) 6-1-8; Mick Addinall (Bar Six) 6-1-0.
Teams: Mitre 19-1-0; Wibsey Angling 16-7-8; Tang Hall Match Group 15-9-0; Cobblers 14-15-8; Anglers Corner 11-12-0; Cochranes 11-4-8

Trevor Hewitt (Hirst Tackle) topped Saturday's 42-entry Bob.Co open match on the Ouse at Widdington and Linton.
Despite carrying two feet of flood water the colour was right and plenty of roach showed.
Ironically it was chub that proved decisive, with the winner netting three on bomb and maggot plus a few roach for his 7lb 9oz from peg 271 at Linton bottom.
Jim Carter (Armley Angling) was on 36 at Widdington and tempted ten quality roach to take a caster feeder for his 4lb 6oz.
Others: Keith Mitchell (Selby) 4-1-0; Stan Haigh (Anglers World York) 3-9-0; Dave Armitage (Hirst Tackle) 3-8-0; Norman Thewliss (Hirst Tackle) 3-5-0
Sunday's Marsh Tackle match on the Ouse above York proved to be a cracker, with roach feeding freely on the sections from Hunters Lodge to Linton.
Despite being up and rising the weights were the best of the winter with Craig Turbitt (Wibsey Angling) leading from peg 248 at Linton middle.
Pole and maggot at 8 metres did the damage tempting around 25 roach to 12oz for his 9lb 5oz.
Paul Bennet (Wibsey Angling) was three pegs downstream and used a long rod with stick float and maggot for a similar number or slightly smaller roach and 7lb 2oz
Others: Mick Shaw (Hirst Tackle) 7-0-0; Paul Clough (Armley Angling) 6-4-0; Tony Webster (Hirst Tackle) 5-5-0; Steve Smith (Airborough) 5-0-0
The 28-peg Raker Lakes match fished on Horseshoe Lake on Sunday went to youngster Gareth Sellars (Team Gem). His winning net of 22lb 10oz comprised small carp, roach and skimmers and fell to pole and maggot at 14 metres from peg 15.
Others: Dave Geldart (Boston Spa) 20-15-0; Dave Sherwood (Anglers Corner) and Rick Johnson (Leeds) both 18-13-0
Ending the recent domination of Dragonfly lake Dean Smith (MAP Elton) the open match which attracted 61 competitors to the eight main match lakes at Woodlands on Sunday.
Smith took the honours from corner peg 1 on Swallow. Ignoring the margins to his right he fished to open water at 14 metres with corn netting mainly carp with the odd chub and barbel for 25lb 6oz.
Gordon Poole (MAP Elton) used pole and corn to the island from Dragonfly 15 for his all carp 20lb 7oz to beat of the challenge of team-mate Mark Coyne (MAP Elton), who added to his growing Kamasan points haul from the same lake.
Others: John Chapman (Drennan NW) 17-13-0; Tony Neesom (Elton Tackle) 16-11-0; Ray Singh (MAP Elton) 16-1-0.
There will not be an angling column on Friday this week.
