POCKLINGTON has come closer to getting a refurbished clock after almost £200 was handed to a special appeal fund.
Pocklington Town Council has set up a special Town Clock Restoration Appeal Committee to refurbish the clock in All Saints' Church's tower.
Almost £1,800 has been raised so far, £180 of this came from December's Carols With The Mayor concert at the Oak House.
Another £14 came from an American man who wanted to thank the council for help in tracing his family history.
The Chameleon singers, a local singing group are to perform in All Saints' Church, on Saturday, March 22, in aid of the appeal.
