YORK tug-of-love mum Allison Williams flew home to Britain clutching the son she feared she might never see again.
As reported in later editions of yesterday's Press, Allison, 40, thanked readers for making her dream come true after they helped to fund the legal battle she won in the U.S. to secure custody of Daniel, seven. In an emotional scene, the overjoyed mum, who was accompanied by daughter Ashley, tightly hugged Daniel after their flight from the States landed at Heathrow yesterday.
"This is a dream come true for me," she said. "There will be no more sad goodbyes."
Allison, who lives off Nunnery Lane, York, needed to travel to the U.S. to win custody of Daniel after the boy's father, Kevin Stucki, of Duarte, California, died.
The pair had shared custody of Daniel, but Kevin's death brought fresh custody proceedings.
Evening Press readers rallied to raise more than £1,000 towards Allison's legal bill.
She said: "I'm very grateful to Evening Press readers for all their help, and for everyone who gave me their power of thought."
